About LACH:
Transforming Lives, One Child at a Time
LACH was born out of a moment of raw realization experienced by our founder, Roselinejethro Ajagbe. One evening, while on her way home from work, she overheard a distressing exchange between a teenage girl and a street boy. The boy had asked the girl for sex in exchange for a sanitary pad. Stunned, Roseline’s mind raced with questions: Is this the reality for some children? How can basic necessities like sanitary pads be so inaccessible>
It dawned on her that for many families struggling to afford three meals a day, purchasing sanitary products is an impossible luxury. This lack of access forces countless girls to resort to unsafe alternatives such as tissue paper or leaves, leading to health risks and missed school days.
Deeply moved by this experience, Roselinejethro a passionate advocate for child welfare and family wellness took action. She founded Lift A Child (LACH) in 2022, a nonprofit organization committed to eradicating period poverty and the stigma surrounding it. LACH serves as a beacon of hope, providing essential support through education, advocacy, and resources.
